Marche Pour Jésus
As you probably know, France is a secular country. It is very difficult for a Christian to talk about their faith at work, at school, or in public spaces—and if they do, it is regulated by very restrictive laws. However, did you know that in this same country, Christians of all denominations gather once a year to demonstrate their love for Jesus in the streets?
March for Jesus is an international movement that believers in France enthusiastically joined, because as you may also know, French people seem to march to demand their rights every other day, so why not instead proclaim the Gospel through a mass demonstration? And there you have it – that’s how La Marche for Jésus was born in 1991! Since then, Paris has hosted the largest number of marches, but others have also been organized on a regular basis, such as in Strasbourg, Bordeaux, Nantes, Lille, Toulouse, Marseille, Belfort, Nice, and others.
Now is the time to pray because the majority of the 2026 marches are being held in the next few weeks. Most of the marches in France are June 6, and many of the marches in other countries are on May 23. If you’re interested in joining one of the marches, you can find the France schedule here, and the schedule for other countries here. If you don’t find one near you, you can always start one in your community or even pray by yourself in solidarity with the marchers.
Local organizing committees are already praying as they prepare for these simultaneous events, and they need your support!
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- Let us pray for the organizing committees of the Marches for Jesus in the various cities. O God, provide for their needs, bring in volunteers, and grant them supernatural protection in all they do to prepare for Your march!
- O God, we pray that more cities may unite and gather around You, like chicks around their mother hen. We glorify You and pray that You may be made visible in the midst of this march through the people who will participate in it across the various cities of France.
- My God, we pray that, just as the Israelites marched around Jericho, the French people in the various cities where they will march may bring down the walls of unbelief that still separate them from You, and that they may return to the arms of Our Father, who is eagerly awaiting them!
